Courses for CREOG and the new computerized OB/GYN Written Board Exam
This will be of interest to residency directors. This 1 hour lecture is given at your institution to your entire residency program. This may take the form of Grand Rounds or any other format that suits your program. We briefly review the exam process and the 'mechanics' of MCQ testing. More importantly however, we provide a means for your residents to determine their individual strengths and weaknesses in written exam test-taking and, show them how to develop an individualized focused study plan for the exam. We go further and show them how to score an additional 10% in the exam.
This 5 hour course begins with a brief introduction into the exam process with candidates being given a 30 minute mock written exam. This exam is specifically designed to detect weaknesses in various areas of MCQ test-taking technique. This is followed by a presentation (Preparing for CREOG and Written Board Exams). While this lecture is being delivered, the tests are collected, marked and computer-assessed for areas of weakness in test taking skills. An extensive training review is then provided to reinforce the technique of optimally taking a multiple choice exam and thus maximizing test scores. Finally, we provide a lecture of commonly asked 'high yield' questions, that every candidate must know before walking into the exam. Small class size and individualized attention allow maximal absorption of our techniques allowing you to achieve the test score your feel you deserve.
